The Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards recognises outstanding businesses and individuals across Barnsley, Rotherham, and South Yorkshire. Whether you’re a growing start-up, a thriving enterprise, or an established organisation making a difference, there’s a category for you. Awards are open to businesses of all sizes and sectors within the ‘S’ postcode area (South Yorkshire) and all members of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.
Categories include Apprentice of the Year, Business Growth, Commitment to People Development, Excellence in Customer Service, and Sustainability, as well as awards for new businesses, large organisations, and community impact. Charities can enter the Charity of the Year Award, which includes a cash donation for the winner. The overall Business of the Year Award will be selected by judges from category finalists.

This award recognises an individual who has made an exceptional contribution and commitment to their workplace.
Business Community Impact
This award will recognise a business which demonstrates an innovative, collaborative and proactive approach to corporate social responsibility and responsible business practice.
Business Growth
This award recognises a business which, through outstanding vision and leadership, has achieved significant and sustained growth or development.
Business Person of the Year
This award will recognise an individual who has been instrumental in the overall success of a business over the last three years, whose entrepreneurial outlook and vision for their business sets them apart from the crowd.
Charity of
the Year
The winner of this award will receive a cash prize as a donation towards their chosen project, initiative or need, which should be detailed in your application form on entry.
Commitment to People Development
This award will recognise an organisation that can demonstrate excellence in its approach to the skills development of its workforce to positively impact on the overall business.
Excellence in Customer Service
This award will go to the organisation that can best demonstrate that it has the customer at the heart of the business.
Large Business of the Year
This award will recognise the outstanding success and achievements of businesses who employ 100 or more people or with a turnover of over £5 Million.
Campaign of the Year
The Campaign of the Year award celebrates a standout campaign that showcases creativity, strategic brilliance, and measurable impact, honouring a business that has effectively captivated its audience and driven success in South Yorkshire’s vibrant business community.
Most Promising New Business
This award will recognise a business that has been established for less than three years and that has displayed a strategic approach to business, successful implementation of a business strategy and has good prospects for the future.
Sustainability
Award
This award recognises a business that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to sustainable practices through innovative and impactful initiatives. The winner of this award will have implemented strategies that not only benefit the environment, but also positively impacted their local community.
Small Business of the Year Award
This award celebrates the outstanding achievements of small businesses that are making a big impact. Whether you’re a growing start-up, a well-established company, or a family-run enterprise, this award recognises businesses that have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation, and resilience.
